The wastewater treatment facility is located one mile south of the village. Wastewater services are provided to businesses and residential homes within the Village of Mount Horeb. The Wastewater Department maintains several lift stations throughout the village for proper flow of wastewater to the treatment facility.
Shown at left is one of nine current pumping stations in the village. The pumping stations pump wastewater through the force mains up from the lower elevations to a point where they can run by gravity to the Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) for treatment.
We own and maintain over 46 miles of gravity sewer mains. The Wastewater Utility jet cleans and televises 10% of the gravity mains each year. We also inspect 10% of the over 1050 manholes throughout the village annually.
Meter Reading & Billing
Similar to reading your electric meter, Mount Horeb Utilities crew members collect usage data from your water meter with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) device. Our data collection devices read your meter and store that information in a format that is then imported into our billing software to help produce your monthly billing statement. Your sewer charges are based on your water usage read by your water meter.
